For 12 years she was the wife of the worlds most iconic dad, Bill Cosby. Last night, at the red carpet premiere of ‘Selma’, Phylicia Rashad broke her silence on rape allegations against Bill. The actress, most known for her role as Clair Huxtable, defended Cosby when asked, reportedly saying she loves him and that she never seen him behave in the manner described by the 15 plus women claiming he sexually assaulted them. Reports say Phylicia even said ” FORGET THOSE WOMEN!” Discrediting any truth to the ladies stories, but now she is back on record claiming she was misquoted.
Today, just one day after Phylicia spoke out about Cosby, she is on the hot seat for saying the insensitive words “Forget those women.” A quote, that the actress NOW claims not to have said. In an interview with ABC News she corrected the statement saying,
“And that was a misquote. What I said is that this is not about the women, this is about the obliteration of legacy,” Rashad responded. “I am a woman I would never say such a thing.”
Rashad refused to speak in detail about sexual allegations but still offered up a bit of her mind. Sayng,
“What has happened is declaration in the media of guilt, without proof,”
Nothing but praises left the mouth of Rashad. Some believe she has a financial motive in supporting her former on air husband, but the actress claims no truth to that rumor.
We will keep you posted.
